Wisconsin Public Education Network 4th Annual Summer Summit

August 1, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Do you believe every child deserves to attend an equally excellent public school? Are you worried we aren’t keeping that promise to our children? Do you want to connect with others who believe in Wisconsin’s constitutional promise for fully funded, quality public education?

If you answered ‘yes’, plan on attending the Wisconsin Public Education Network 4th Annual Summer Summit on August 1st at Appleton North High School.

Participants will be offered a full day of motivating presentations, action-focused strategy sessions, and informational breakouts led by Wisconsin public education advocates and experts. Topics will include school funding and current legislative issues, among a variety of other issues affecting students in our public schools. There will also be a panel discussion by several members of the Blue Ribbon Commission on School Funding. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with opening remarks at 9:00 a.m.  A nominal fee is being charged for the day’s events.

The 4:00 keynote address is free and open to all, even if you don’t attend the rest of the Summit. This year’s keynote speaker will be Jitu Brown, a community organizer and champion for educational equity from Chicago, and head of the Journey for Justice Alliance. Donations are welcome at the door.

The theme for this year’s Summit is ‘VOTE PUBLIC!’, an invitation to supporters of public schools to make public education a focus of all upcoming elections.

Further details, registration information and the optional dinner reservation are available at: http://www.wisconsinnetwork.org.

The Summit is being hosted by Fox Cities Advocates for Public Education, along with the Appleton Area School District.
