DPOC VOTER OUTREACH CHAIR
Every February I worry because it’s so close to our election and I don’t feel like the number of canvassing shifts we have scheduled is what we need to get us over the goal line.
But then in March you always seem to come through and advocate for the community you want to live in and elect leaders who are smart, compassionate, responsible and who reflect our values. Today the Marquette poll told us that 66% of those polled do not know who they are voting for in our state’s Supreme Court race. Those same voters likely also don’t know to vote YES for the Appleton school referendum or which candidates for local county board, city/town and village boards and school boards reflect their progressive values.
These are non-partisan elections, meaning there will be no D or R attached to the candidates’ names on the ballot. That’s why we need you out there knocking on Democrats’ doors, letting them know which candidates we support.
A reminder: If you’ve never canvassed before we’ll send you out with a veteran so you can just observe or participate as you are comfortable.
We do this to create the types of communities we want to live in.
