Ready to volunteer? We all have our unique “why.” This community could use your voice to move us forward.
|
With federal FoodShare benefits running out last week due to the ongoing government shutdown, many Wisconsin families are facing empty cupboards and impossible choices. So we’re stepping up, together.
Our chair started this drive when she began collecting food October 27 with the intention of running it through November 8. The goal was to organize a drive to fill the shelves of our local food pantries — starting with programs in Appleton, New London, Greenville, Hortonville, and Black Creek, but we as a county party are expanding because the need is greater now than ever. We are supplementing this effort by raising funds and donations for neighbors in the Heart of the Valley, Freedom, and Seymour areas.
You can help by:
-
Hosting a donation box at your business or community space (or bringing items to the office)
-
Writing a check directly to the food pantry (ask us for specifics)
-
Signing up to have your porch serve as a collection point via this form
-
Joining a pickup crew to collect from porches and deliver to pantries
Every item collected stays right where it’s donated — helping neighbors feed neighbors in the communities we all call home. Email team@emilytseffos.com to get involved!
Because when our government fails to take care of people, we show up and take care of each other. 💛
– Emily Tseffos Chair, Outagamie County Democratic Party
