Governor Evers and Republican leaders have been meeting to discuss compromises over the state biennial budget, which is the most impactful legislation that will be signed into law. Contact Governor Evers and tell him to be tough. Republicans have passed austerity budgets for the past 16 years and enough is enough.
Last month, the Republicans on the Joint Finance Committee eliminated many of Governor Evers’ proposals dealing with healthcare, public education, childcare, and much more. A summary of the cuts is available in Governor Evers’ press release.
There is still time for you to contact your state senator and representative about the budget bill.
