ARPA funds benefit Wisconsin, including Appleton area

By Jerry Iverson

Infrastructure projects funded through President Biden’s leadership are impacting hundreds of Wisconsin communities and benefiting residents all over the State.

Three Fox Valley projects are among many funded through Biden’s bipartisan legislative efforts. Projects benefiting us today and for decades to come.

The first featured project is a new drinking water and wastewater treatment project at Plamann Park. Outagamie County’s Plamann Park is used extensively by thousands of people for recreation. Both the aging septic system and drinking water well needed replacement. To solve this problem, the County allocated $3 million of American Rescue Plan Act funds to hook up to Appleton’s drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities.

The regional 911 facility operated by Outagamie County was funded by ARPA. With increased emergency service needs, the old 911 facility became overcrowded and telecommunication equipment needed updating. The new 911 facility was completed with $5.6 million of ARPA funds.

Appleton International Airport is the fastest growing airport in Wisconsin. A needed airport expansion will add four new gates and improve passenger services. This $66 million dollar project will be partially funded over the next few years with up to $13 million dollars from Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure bill and additional FAA funds.

These infrastructure projects are funded by our federal taxes and there are hundreds of similar projects all over Wisconsin. If not for Biden’s bipartisan efforts, these needed projects would be delayed or not completed. Vote for legislators that support bipartisan efforts which benefit all of us not just a few.
