Public schools hold communities together
By Marcia Engen and Patti Clark-Stojke
Do you enjoy the sight of a big yellow school bus coming down your street reminding you that the school in your neighborhood will be filled soon with the energy of young people? As retired public school educators, we do. It is such a bright reminder of the magic that is happening within our pubic schools. The incredible art of teaching, the unending generosity, and the compassion fills every public school building for every student, every day.
Public schools are the glue that hold our communities together. Teachers, administrators, and paraprofessionals are dedicated, caring, educated individuals who serve as role models for our students. They represent the power of public education. Public education is the key to an informed, engaged citizenry with the concerted support of all citizens in the Fox Cities.
Being members of Fox Cities Advocates for Public Education, we ask you to take a moment to thank all of those who continue to make our Fox Cities public schools great. We proudly celebrate Public Schools Week, Feb. 26 to March 1.
Thank you to our Fox Cities public schools.
