Shukoski supports clean water, public schools
If you care about the environment, if you care about public schools, if you care about supporting labor and our public safety officials, if you care about transparency your vote for the 53rd Assembly District should be an easy one.
Duane Shukoski spent 37 years at Kimberly Clark, working his way from union steelworker to the sustainability division. As such, Duane believes strongly in the importance of keeping our waterways clean and safe. His opponent, Dean Kaufert, voted to ease restrictions on mining permits when he was in the legislature. Duane understands that all Wisconsinites deserve clean and safe drinking water. It’s not only the right thing to do, it enhances our tourism industry when we maintain healthy waterways.
Duane and his children grew up in public schools and he understands the value of quality education for all citizens. Kaufert once voted to extend the Voucher Program to include religious schools and to exclude income limits on those who qualify. This effectively left public education severely underfunded and it remains that way today.
And when it comes to transparency, Duane fully answered the questionnaire sent out by the American Civil Liberties Union while Kaufert couldn’t be bothered. How can we choose wisely when one of the candidates refuses to make his positions public. This is disrespectful of the very citizens he is seeking to represent.
Finally Duane supports our unions, including public safety workers.
The choice is clear: Duane Shukoski cares about the people of Wisconsin and deserves your vote.
