Vote for people to represent us, not rule us
By Carol Lenz
There is a lot to celebrate this Fourth of July.
The U.S. economy in the strongest in the world. More people are working than ever before. Inflation is down and wages are up. U.S. energy production is at record highs. American manufacturing is steadily growing. Infrastructure projects are happening all over the country. Prescription drugs, food, and utility costs are moderating. Crime rates are way down. Despite Republican obstruction, illegal immigration is being tackled. The U.S. is leading again on the world stage.
So, don’t buy the trash talk. The truth is America is the greatest country on earth. The Biden administration has a lot to be proud of. We have plenty to celebrate on the Fourth of July.
Now Wisconsin needs to get to work. Because of the new voting maps, we have an opportunity to elect a more balanced legislature, where legislators work together to improve our lives. Progress can finally be made on issues that the majority of Wisconsinites support, like childcare, parental leave, public school funding, Medicaid expansion, reproductive rights, and so much more.
So, let’s vote for people who want to represent us, not rule us. Here are two outstanding candidates who will do the job. Lee Snodgrass is running for re-election in the new Assembly District 52 (mostly Appleton). Kristin Alfheim is a candidate in the new Senate District 18 (Appleton, Neenah, Menasha, Oshkosh). Give them your support. They are ready to make good on Wisconsin’s motto, Forward!
