Several qualified women vying for government seats

Beyonce asked, 'Who run(sic) the world?'
The answer, it turned out, was 'girls.'
In 2024, we can turn the line from that song into reality. We have so many dynamic women ready to step into leadership and we will be the better for it, especially given the values and intelligence of our candidates.
Start with the whip-smart Kristin Lyerly for U.S. Congress, who has been a champion of reproductive rights for years.
Take Lee Snodgrass seeking re-election in District 52. Lee’s office is considered one of the most responsive in the entire legislature. She even resolves issues for citizens outside her district who couldn’t get a response from their own representative. Her values reflect equality for all but she also works across the aisle to do what’s best for her district and for the state.
Take Emily Tseffos in AD 56, who is running one of the most aggressively upbeat grassroots campaigns you could hope to find. She has already knocked hundreds of doors, not to talk but to listen to voters and find out what their needs and concerns are. Her incumbent opponent, meanwhile, has so far not responded to Emily’s several earnest requests to hold a candidate forum.
Take Kris Alfheim in SD18, another smart, energetic woman who has proven her willingness to work with others while a member of the city council. She too believes in decency, equality and fairness.
Our state legislature has been stuck in do-nothing darkness for 15 years. These women will bring effectiveness and light.
