About Mark
Mark Becker is a small business owner from Luxemburg who owns an auto sales and service shop in Suamico. He is running for Wisconsin State Senate as an Independent in District 1.
A former chair of the Brown County Republican Party and a former county supervisor, Becker left the Republican Party after 2016 over its direction. He later hosted a Green Bay political radio show before stepping away to focus on the campaign, which he frames around lowering the temperature of politics: “there is more that unites us than divides us.”

The race
Running for: Wisconsin State Senate, District 1 (Door and Kewaunee counties and parts of Brown, Manitowoc, Calumet, and Outagamie counties)
Opponent: Republican Nic Cravillion
Why it matters for Outagamie: District 1 reaches into southwest Outagamie County, including the Town of Buchanan and parts of Appleton. With Senator André Jacque retiring, it is an open seat, and Becker is running as the independent alternative to the Republican nominee.
